How your age is calculated
Your exact age is the time from your date of birth to today, broken into full years, then the leftover months, then the leftover days. It is not simply today's year minus your birth year, because whether you have had your birthday yet this year changes the count. This calculator works it out precisely from your date of birth.
Worked example
Born on 1 January 2000, on 19 August 2026 you would be 26 years, 7 months and 18 days old. The calculator counts the full years first, then the remaining months and days.
Good to know
